Encode and decode geohashes. Use when sharing locations; for timezones use world-clock. Input: lat/lng or geohash. Returns geohash or coords. 100% client-side, files never leave browser.
Geohash Tool is loading — interactive editor will appear here. Use examples below to try instantly once loaded.

Encodes latitude/longitude to geohash (precision 1–12) and decodes geohash to center, bounds, error, and 8 neighbors. Shows bounds as min/max lat/lng and a map placeholder. Pure JS, no map dep.
Geohashes are used for spatial indexing and proximity search. Manual base32 math is tedious; this does it locally with neighbor calc for bounding-box queries without calling a maps API.

Backend developers indexing locations, mobile devs debugging nearby queries, and GIS learners exploring geohash precision.
In Encode, enter lat/lng and pick precision 1–12, click Encode to get geohash and bounds.
In Decode, paste a geohash, click Decode to see center, bounds, and 8 neighbors in a grid.
Copy any value from the output (data-testid). All math is local — no upload.
Input: 37.7749, -122.4194, precision 5 → Output: 9q8yy (error ~2.4km).Input: 9q8yyk8yt → Output: center 37.7749,-122.419, bounds 37.77/37.78, -122.42/-122.41, neighbors 8.Is it uploaded? No
base32 encode/decode is pure JS in your browser.
Does it need a map? No
a placeholder div is shown; integrate Leaflet if you need a visual map.
What base32 alphabet?
0123456789bcdefghjkmnpqrstuvwxyz (no a,i,l,o) per geohash spec.
Geohash base32 encoding — all calculations done client-side. Precision controls cell size (1 = world /32, 12 = ±0.04m).
Evaluate math expressions with functions safely. Use for quick calc; for scientific history use scientific-calculator. Input: expression text. Returns numeric result. 100% client-side.
Calculate percentages, increase, and tips. Use for quick percent math; for change between values use percentage-change-calculator. Input: numbers. Returns percent result. 100% client-side.
Show current time across timezones. Use when scheduling; for timestamps use timestamp-converter. Input: timezone selection. Returns local times. 100% client-side, files never leave browser.
Stopwatch and timer with laps in browser. Use when timing tasks; for date spans use date-calculator. Input: button controls. Returns elapsed time. 100% client-side.
Estimate arrival time and duration from speed and distance. Use when planning transfers; for date math use date-calculator. Input: numbers. Returns ETA and duration. 100% client-side.
Projects lump-sum growth from principal, rate, years and compounding frequency. Use when forecasting a one-time deposit; differs from sip-calculator by single deposit vs monthly contributions. Returns maturity value, interest and schedule. 100% client-side.
Projects SIP wealth from monthly amount, expected return, years and timing. Use when planning recurring fund contributions; differs from compound-interest-calculator by monthly deposits vs lump sum. Returns maturity value, invested total and chart. 100% client-side.
Computes EMI from principal, rate and tenure with full amortization. Use for any generic loan estimate; differs from auto-loan by generic terms vs vehicle fees and down payment. Returns EMI, total interest and schedule. 100% client-side.
